Well it has been a long time and lots has happened.  I am currently in West Valley hangin' with the fam.  Today is my big sis Lisa's Birthday.  Happy Birthday Lisa.  The other day we were carving pumpkins okay it was over a week ago but at any rate one of the pumpkins was tall and skinny.  It reminded me of one year when we were young and we all got to do our own pumpkin a couple nights before halloween my pumpkin got smashed.  I was devastated.  Despite her love for her pumpkin Lisa gave me hers so that I had one. It was tall and skinny and everytime I see one Like that.  I think of Lisa and how loving she always is.  She was always willing to pick up the pieces and sacrifice for someone else.  She still is that way.  Happy Birthday!

Quarter to Foshen

This is Mikey a few months ago when he was first riding his Bike.
I should have posted about this a long time ago, but we all know I am a terrible blogger. But here it is now. His favorit thing to do was/is ride to Grandma's. He had all sorts of funny commentary. "And He's off" "Mikey takes the lead" "He's the fastest guy racing ever." but my favorite was "Quarter to Foshen" This is a made up word that means change the direction you are pedaling to either stop or start going again. He would also pretend the nut and screw that help on the handles was a screen that would tell him stuff such as "quarter to foshen.

Florida

Well we have been back from Florida for over a week now, so I figure it is about time that I post again. Florida was a lot of fun. Mike was so relaxed and fun. Mikey was as cute as ever. I have so many funny quotes from when we were on the vaca.
My top four are:
#1: Shortly after crossing the border into Montana Mikey informed us that he had to go pee. Mike told him he would need to hold it and we would find a bathroom as quickly as possible. Mikey then replied "That's okay I like to pee in the grass." I laughed so hard. Yep that's my son.
#2: We were headed to St. Pete's beach (amazing by the way) and Mikey said "Mom, do you have any bacon." Of course I didn't and I told him this "well, I really want some." Driving down the road and a bacon craving hits. More and More I am convinced that he really is deep down ALL BOY!
#3: Later that day as we were headed home he had to go #2 and told us we were on the freeway and it was packed. (it just happened to be game 1 of the Tampa Bay Rays playoffs) Mike told Mikey he would try to hurry but that he needed to hold it. A few minutes later from the backseat we her "Oh man oh man oh man." But he held it.
#4: When we were at Magic Kingdom Mikey got a hot dog for dinner. He is a very slow eater sometimes and Mike was wanting to hurry so he was helping him eat his hot dog. Mike dipped his hot dog in ketchup and Mikey said "That's correct." It was so funny. Mikey LOVES ketchup.

Hopefully these were as funny to you the reader as they were to me. We had so much fun. We went to Sea World and their new waterpark Aquatica. The Beach several times. We went to Disney World's Magic Kingdom and Epcot. We did some shopping. We went to Kennedy Space Center and did some swimming at the condo. We had a wonderful time and I survived Vacation pregnant. It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be either. The hardest part is the onion thing.
(I thought we had pictures already on the computer but we don't, but they will eventually make it.)

been a long time

Well I will start with a tag my sister tagged me with.
7 Random things about me
1. We had a pet wolf spider growing up. My dad would catch crickets remove their legs and we would watchie wolfie eat.
2. I love foreign films. I think came from my time in Taiwan.
3. I have a perfectly round scar on the top of my bottom from when I was little and had chicken pox.
4. I am TERRIFIED of needles. I hate them. I cry whenever I am alone and have to get them. For some reason I can act tough when Mikey is around. I do not want him to be afraid also.
5. I collect how to say "I Love You" in foreign languages. I used to be able to say it from memory in over fifty but haven't practiced and can probably only say ten or so.
6. When I wear strappy sandals it looks like I only have four toes on each foot because my baby toe is much shorter then the rest. When I worled at Discover there was a rumor going around that I only had four toes on each foot.
7. I will try eating just about anything once. I even ate a potato bug on a dare once.

Being Good...for Minn

Warning: May contain sensitive medical information
Well Marintha is always getting on me for my lack of blogging. I am fully aware that it has become a rare thing for me but in my defense I have not been well. I have had quite a rough time with this pregnancy. Marintha keeps telling me that I should be glad it is not half-vampire (see Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer). However if it were I would already have had the baby. But yes I am glad that itis not half-vampire, I am also glad that I still have a few months to prepare for the new additions arrival. I have had a hard time keeping anything down which is not only frustrating and gross, but tiring and stressful. But I am now fourteen weeks and had 8 successful meals in a row a new record. I feel pretty good. The one day I was feeling sick and I told Mikey I needed to sit for a minute to let my tummy settle so that I didn't vomit. He said why don't you just go throw up and then play with me. I told him that I didn't like throwing up. He asked me Why I didn't like it anymore. I guess he thought that because I did it so often I must enjoy it. Poor thing he has been so good and he has been so patient with me.

My 3 year old is way too funny

So lately Mikey has just seemed so funny to me. The other night at dinner he was having some juice and as often happens with children he got a juice mustache. His dad informed him of this. Mikey started talking about it and how it is a stain which he informed us is why he doesn't call it a mustache he calls it a musstain. We laughed so hard. Then the other day we saw a rabbit in the garden so this started an obsession with rabbits. He is always playing Peter Rabbit. Well a couple nights ago he had been playing Peter Rabbit and jumping all over Mike and then all the sudden he got really serious and asked his dad if Rabbits could talk. His dad told him no that only Bugs Bunny and the Easter Bunny can talk. This got Mikey laughing and then he informed his dad that the Easter Bunny is not real he is only a "human in a pretend bunny costume". That's right the gig is up. My 3 year old doesn't believe in the Easter Bunny. Kinda sad. I guess we never should have taken him to meet the Easter Bunny at the Remmington. He has also been checking out reference books at the library. Last Wednesday I asked him if he wanted to get some story books he told me "no, just the good ones" and walked to the reference section. So much like his dad. Although yesterday he checked out some stories so I guess he is still my little boy for awhile longer.

Some excitement

Well I was going to wait to post until I figured the whole picture thing out but I figured I should post now and add pictures later.

Well Friday my neighbor invited us over for dinner because Mike was out of town and I have not been feeling so hot. For those of you who do not know I am eleven weeks pregnant. YAY!!! The "morning sickness" has kind of taken over our lives for a bit but we are hoping this will pass. Anyhow back to the story. So we had been at the neighbors and we were coming home to get Mikey and yes I'll admit it mom to bed. I let him play outside for a bit and then as we came around the corner of the house I could see smoke across the street. This isn't that alarming as there is a campground down the hill from us. But the strange thing was I could smell and hear fire. Now I know pregnancy does some crazy things to the senses but this just seemed to strong so I went to check it out and sure enough the hill/field across the street was on fire. I ran in and called 911 and before I was off the phone they were there. The fire was not big and they put it out quickly. I went to see if they wanted to use my hose but they were done before I thought of it. Not that my dinky garden hose would do much but I was trying to do my part. Mikey wanted to Thank them for being savers. So I asked if he could come thank them they said yes. He came over and thanked and shook there hands. They did him one better they let him play Jr. Fireman. they put a helmet on him and let him spray the hose they let him climb into the fire truck and told him about the equipment and stuff. Then as they drove off they waved and turned the siren on for him. He was so proud. He wanted to tell Daddy right away but couldn't so then He decided to tell Linda (our neighbor) and then he had to tell Grandma so despite the fact it was already past bedtime I decided to let him go tell Grandma and Grandpa. Although truth be told I don't know who was more excited Mikey or me. (Just so you know we live in a small town and the firetruck was not a big red engine but a normal truck converted to carry water and be used in emergencies if I had the picture thing figured out you would see what I mean.) Thank Cardston County Emergency Services for going beyond the call of duty and making some fun memories for Mikey and I.

Goodnight stories

Mikey loves having good night stories. Every night he tries to convince you to read more and more stories he usually wants five I usually give him three. The other night, about a week ago, I was extremely tired and my eyes wouldn't stay open so I told him that I would make up a story to tell him. I asked him what he wanted a story about and he said me and Clayton at the park. It has since become a ritual at nap time and bedtime. They all start out...There was once a boy named Mikey and he had a friend named Clayton and Clayton had a little sister named Kami (he also has a sister named Alyssa but she is too small for the adventures they go on). They all loved to go to the park and one day while they were at the park a very strange thing happened... He always helps me start the story and then he usually picks part of what the strange thing that happened was. At the end they always get tired and either go to Mikey's moms house or Adria's house for lunch or a snack and he picks what it is they eat that day, then they all go home and have naps. THE END. It doesn't matter what the story is even the scriptures he always ends it with THE END. It is one of my favorite things. Clayton Mikey misses you but he is glad that you are having fun at your new house in "Vaginia".

1. As a comment on my blog, leave a memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember! If we're only blogging friends, write about a post that is the most memorable for you.
2. Next, if you feel so inclined, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll be sure to write one about you...!

A camping we have gone

I have thought about posting for awhile but you all know how life gets. This weekend we went camping. Mike's uncle has some amazing property and every year we go on a big family camp out. It is always lots of fun. They have a couple picnic tables out there that are very old and falling apart. We decided that since we use it we should help fix it up some we made some new tables. Thursday night Mike and Mikey set too work getting things ready and building. It was a lot of fun to see my two boys working together and since I got my camera working I can add some pictures. Camping was a lot of fun I got pretty sun burnt on my legs but that is all my fault. I should have worn sunscreen. Oh well! I went for a little "hike" up this big hill and my uncle has the most incredible view. His property has a river running through it. Well just look at the pictures and you will see. I took some of the nieces and my nephew and they had a blast. They kept saying this feels like freedom and telling me that that was the best part of the camp out thus far. Sunday we woke up and had breakfast. Mike was getting ready to take me home to go to church and Mikey wanted to come with me to go to church. Everyone was trying to convince him to stay and tell him all the fun he'd have but he wanted to go to church. Kelsie was begging him to stay and he told her that he "needed to go to nursery". I am so proud of him. He is such a good kid.

Pressure

Well I just invited a few more people. So now there are people other then my siblings reading what I write. AAHHH!!! Actually I think it could be fun. However I very seldom write and when I do write I am very seldom witty, or add pictures. Although I did just get some pictures of Mikey's birthday that I will try to figure out how to add. That little boy sure is funny. Last night when went for a walk and the whole time he had Mike and I in stitches. He was playing follow the leader, he would sing do as I am doing and copy his dads every move. It was hillarious to watch. Mike tried to trick him a few times and while the young one lacked grace and skill he did try and did a pretty good job. Later he got tired and his dad gave him a shoulder ride as soon as he got up he started singing the wonderpets theme song the lyrics at one part go, we're not too big and we're not too tough but if we work together we got the right stuff... gooo wonderpets. Well he was singing and when he got to that part he skipped the first part and sang "we're not too tough and we're not to ...(pause and the funniest look came on his face then he got a smile and comtinued) we're not to tugckle. and then finished the song. But you could just see his mind thinking no reason to stop I'll just make up a word. I know Minn and Lisa are thinking sounds like his mom. But hey what can you do.
Also to those whom I have invited and wish to accept I would love an invite to your blogs as well.
Thanks and see you around!!

Food Glorious Food...

Whenevr Mike's family gets together you can guarantee three thinks, you will get made fun of there will be food and there will be stories and jokes about food. Jokes and food, both vitally important to the Blackmore family culture. Sunday night my neice was sharing some of her favorite memories. Both had to do with her eating with one of her parents. I laughed because this just seems to be a trend with the family. Some of the all time favorite stories are the time when Jodi ate the anus of a turkey or turkey butt-whole. The time when Don being a smart aleck told his mom he wanted 5 (or anywhere between 5-13 depending on who is telling the story) hot dogs and his mom made them and made him eat them all. Making milkshakes after Mike went to bed and there is always a plethera of Jokes about the ten second rule. Well this all got me thinking about some of my favorite food related memories.
The time Joanna through a bowl of cereal at me in the morning before school. The bowl landed right on top my head and cereal and milk went everywhere runniong my mascarra down my face as well. Not so funny at the time but hillarious now. The time Minn flipped mashed potatioes at me. Right smack dap in my forehead. She was and is still so proud. I think that is what is funniest to me. Escargo Marshmallows. Need I say more. Hmm, these all have a theme of cruelty to them. I also have to mention the first time I tried to make Mike breakfast in bed and ended up waking him to the smoke detector because I had lit a rag on fire. Ah... Good times.

Just Mom...

Well Yesterday Mikey turned three. I am the mother of a three year old. We had a lot of fun. He is a good kid. He was so polite to all his friends. Anytime someone would say Happy Birthday he would say Happy Birthday back. In the morning I said "It's not my birthday so you don't have to say Happy Birthday back" He got this confused and sad puppy dog look on his face and said "You aren't coming to my birthday?" I replied of course I am He then had this happy grin and with a shrug said "Well, Happy Birthday then". He is so fun.
This morning he came and laid with me. He was so cuddly. I got up to use the washroom and when I came back He asked why. I told him it was because I had a sweet cuddle bug in my bed. And told him how much I loved his cuddles. We then discussed his nicknames Mikey Cuddlebug and Little Bear. I asked him who I was and he said "just mom" I think I like that just mom. And today that felt like enough. It was good to be "just mom".

Floods

Well Friday shortly after I posted my basement started flooding. It flooded all day until Mike got home between five and six. I was on the phone with mom when it started flooding and she told me too use the wet-vac good idea thanks mom (note:when using a wet/dry vac one must remove the dry filter before using for wet... we now have to buy a new filter.) While the flooding had temporarily stopped I ran Mikey to a neighbors. Then came home to a huge amount of water. It has rained since Wed. or Thurs. last week some say around ten inches and that was before we got more today. So I would suck up water and empty it bucket by bucket suck up water empty it. Wait fifteen minutes and it would start all over again. Now thanks to this adventure I have a cold or something My throat is sore I am extremely tired and my lungs feel small. Oh Life and all its glory. I tried calling a plumber with no luck but my mum-in-law came and helped me get things figured out then she picked up Mikey and watched him then that night allowed me to do laundry over there. When it rains it pores and nowhere is that more true then Cardston....

This, That, and the Other

Okay so obviously this is not an everyday thing for me. I do need to get better at it though. It is good for journaling purposes. Tonight we are going to Calgary we are going to the batting cages in the morning. Wahoo. If I get good enough I will join Ladies League next year, and then in the afternoon we are going swimming well Mikey will with grandma unless I somehow manage to buy a new suit before then. I left my last one at a hotel in Idaho Falls. Mikey is so excited. He wants to leave now but we can't. Lots to be done first. So why am I on the computer instead??? Anyhow Mike is in Lethbridge training for his new job. YAY!!! It is just a part time/ when he wants to thing which will be good. It means he can still do things here in town but if he doesn't have something else he can go and do that. It has been rainy the last few days it is supposed to stop Tuesday but I don't think it will be dry enough Wednesday to do Mikey's party outside which means I will have 9 sugar high kids in my house plus four moms and three babies... it should be interesting.

Where to start....

ok folks... I am jumping on the band wagon. It is not that I am opposed to blogs in fact it is quite the opposite. I had one once before and I find blogging theraputic and addictive (sounds like an oxy-moron doesn't it). But "everyone else is doing it"... Well any one who is here probably knows me so... I will write it for memory sake. Our family began on January 24, 2004. Michael Douglas Blackmore and I, Krista Lyn (Thurston) were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple. We lived in Salt Lake for a year and then moved to Cardston, Alberta, Canada where we currently live. Shortly after moving here on May 28, 2005 we had a darling little boy ( as I write this tears well up in my eyes.. I am such a girl) Michael James Blackmore we call him Mikey or Little Bear. He is the joy of my life. Of course all moms say that. He is just the best kid ever (all moms say that too.) Last Summer/Fall we bought our house and we are loving it. Mike is a finish carpenter and all around amazing handy-man. What he would really love to do is build custom furniture ,which he is amazing at, but there just isn't the market for that in a small town. I am a stay at home mom. Some people add housewife but I am much better at the mom stuff then the house stuff. Mikey is on the tail end of potty training... what an adventure. He has done awsome. He loves all the regular boy stuff cars, trucks, tools, superheros, the usual. He is turning three in a couple weeks and we are excited for that. That is about all for now. Thanks for stopping by.
